Improved Contact Creation Experience
As a guy that's built a lot of software hands-on (a lot less hands-on code for me these days, I'm mostly focused on communication with customers + the market), nothing helps you see what's missing more than using the software yourself.
We're doing some cold outreach on LinkedIn. It will be a multi-month effort to grow connections, turn connections into relationships, and turn relationships into new opportunities.
I want to track this effort entirely within Paminga. We need to create leads/contacts in Paminga manually, which is not an experience we've focused on in the past.
I encountered some low-key frustrations: things that forced me to click here, there, then there to accomplish what I was after. This could be streamlined, me thinks. 🤔
I busted out a quick Google Doc checklist of some obvious changes & additions that would make the tasks much easier. I put a junior developer on the first of those tasks, and those initial changes are now live:
- Add a new lead/contact to a marketing list when creating that lead/contact
- Create a new contact in the account you are currently viewing

See that "Add to Marketing Lists" field in the screenshot below? There you go.
You can now add your new lead/contact to as many marketing lists as you like. No need to create the contact first, then go about adding them to lists.
We'll add a field Subscription Lists too, likely within a week.

Create New Contact in the Current Account
When viewing an account in Paminga, it's pretty obvious that you may want to add more contacts to that account.
Well, this wasn't a thing. Again, most of our customers don't add leads or contacts to the platform manually. They're created automatically via "down-sync" from a CRM platform.
But here we were wanting to add contacts to an account and it was a hassle: we had to do it from the contacts table. Lame, but solved.
Now there's a button to "Create a Contact" on the "Account Contacts" page.

Add Social Profiles
We also added fields for various social profiles:
- Twitter / X
We have plan to auto-discover and fill these fields down the road. For now, we've simply made it possible to manage social profiles.
The is true when creating or editing any Account: you can enter profiles for an organization's social profiles on the following social networks:
- Twitter / X
- YouTube
When viewing a specific Lead, Contact, or Account, if social profiles are known, you'll see icons to take you straight to those profiles.
