Sync Only Selected Records
By default, Paminga will sync all Accounts, Contacts, Leads, and Opportunities from your connected CRM into Paminga (per your selected fields mappings, of course).
This allows you to leverage CRM data within Paminga:
- As conditions for campaign audiences
- To trigger Conditional Actions
- To customize reporting and dashboards
- In Segmentation
- ...and many other areas across the platform
...but this may not be the behavior you desire.
If you would like to control which records are synced to Paminga from CRM, you may "flag" those records via a custom field in CRM. This can help you keep your Paminga instance "clean". It also can impact billing.
More mailable records in Paminga generally means a larger bill. If you have old or "bad" data that you would prefer not to sync to Paminga, this technique may be a good solution.
Flagging the Records You Want to Sync
Paminga will honor simple "true/false" custom fields added to each CRM "object" (Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity).
These fields are normally created with a label of "Sync to Paminga" or similar. You are free to label the field in CRM as you choose.
The name of the custom field, however, must follow the CRM-specific instructions below.
Create Custom Fields in CRM
Create custom fields per these instructions on each CRM "object" (Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity) that you wish to sync conditionally.
IFS Cloud CRM
Field Name: Sync_to_Paminga
Salesforce
Field Name: Sync_to_Paminga
Note: SalesForce automatically adds __c
so it ends up as Sync_to_Paminga__c
.
Dynamics 365
Field Name: Sync_to_Paminga__c
SugarCRM
Field Name: sync_to_paminga
The field name is case-sensitive.
Please ensure your custom field is named exactly as it appears above.
You will need to create a similar custom field on each object you would like to sync conditionally:
Account, Contact, Lead, and Opportunity.
If you already have a field you've been using for this purpose (perhaps with a 3rd party vendor), let us know!
We can make an adjustment so you don't have to re-name your custom fields or alter existing processes.
Choose a Default Value For Your Custom Fields
You may choose to default your "Sync to Paminga" fields to a value of false
, and then set that value to true
for the records you would like synced to Paminga.
Conversely, you may default the value to true
if you'd like most records to sync, and selectively set chosen records to a value of false
.
Paminga will only sync records where the "Sync to Paminga" field is set to true
. Records with a value of false
will be ignored and not synced.
Set the Values For Your Custom Fields
You may set the value of these custom fields in CRM manually or via any automated method you choose.
Inform Your Customer Success Manager
We will be adding a setting (a checkbox) to indicate that you wish to sync only selected records. For now, please let us know by emailing our Customer Success Team at support@paminga.com.
We'll quickly enable selective sync for you.
Kick Off a Full Sync
You'll probably want to run a "full sync" from CRM to Paminga when ready.
