Sunset Contacts
A "Sunset Contacts" Automation may be used to mass-sunset leads/contacts that meet conditions of your choosing.
"Sunsetting" a lead/contact prevents unengaged persons from qualifying for, or being sent, any marketing emails. Transactional emails will still be sent.
By limiting the number of emails you send to unengaged prospects, your overall engagement rate will be higher. This may have a positive impact on inbox placement, and help you avoid the spam folder.
Sunset Contacts Automation
One Time or Perpetual
You may choose to have your Sunset Contacts Automation run only one time, or perpetually.
Perpetual automations will watch for leads/contacts that meet your automation's conditions, and sunset them per your settings.
Conditions: Email Engagement Metrics
When setting up Sunset Contacts Automation, you may find it useful to leverage "Email Engagement Metrics" in your conditions.
Found in the "Email Engagement" category of Paminga's Segment Builder, these conditions allow you to segment on:
- Number of Email Sends
- Number of Email Opens
- Number of Email Clicks
- Email Open Rate
- Email Click Rate
Each of these metrics is currently calculated once per week on Sunday or early Monday, depending on your time zone.

Sunset Contacts Table
You may view your "Sunsetted Contacts" via a table that shows you all the records that are currently sunsetted.
- This table may be filtered and searched
- This table includes "Sunsetted At" and "Sunset Until" columns which you may find useful
Activity Stream Entries
Activity Stream entries are made each time a lead/contact is sunsetted or un-sunsetted.
These entries are shown when viewing "email" activities as well as "all" activities.
